The Wisconsin
HIV/STD/Hepatitis C Information & Referral Center contracts
with Language Line Services to provide over-the-phone interpretation
as a service to Wisconsin's non-English speaking residents.
The interpreters
at Language Line Services adhere to a strict Interpreter Code
of Ethics, including accuracy, impartiality, and most importantly,
confidentiality.
Language
Line Services offers interpretation in over 140 languages.
Here's
how it works:
| |
When
you call, please say the name of your language in English
and an interpreter will be called for you. Please stay
on the line. Our hotline operator will ask you to wait
while they connect with a Language Line interpreter. Within
moments, you will be connected to an interpreter who speaks
your language. You can then proceed with your questions
regarding HIV, STDs, or Hepatitis C. The interpreter will
work with you and the operator in answering your questions. |
When our
operators are not available, the Wisconsin HIV/STD/Hepatitis
C Information & Referral Center hotline automatically
transfers callers to the CDC National STD and AIDS Hotline.
